Learn about the Chesapeake Bay’s history, traditions, and culture—all situated in a park-like setting along the Miles River and St. Michaels Harbor. What you need to know before your visit When you visit CBMM, you’ll realize our top priority is to provide a comfortable environment for you, your family, our team, and the community. In accordance with policy updates from the State of Maryland, and the Town of St. Michaels, facial coverings will no longer be mandatory for guests visiting the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. We encourage all guests to review current recommendations from the CDC to inform masking decisions while visiting CBMM. CBMM staff and volunteers will be masked at all festivals and special events. Guests—both unvaccinatedvaccinated—are encouraged to wear a mask indoors due to high community transmission and current guidance from the CDC. Masks are available at the Museum StoreWelcome Center, front desk, and other points on campus during festivals. Our cleaning protocols have been enhanced, and we are implementing physical-distancing measures. Signage and floor markers have been positioned around campus to direct traffic flow, create appropriate distancing, and eliminate areas of congestion. Motion sensors have replaced push button interactives in a number of locations across campus. Plexiglass sneeze guards have been installed at point of sale stations in the Welcome Center and Museum Store to protect guests and staff during transactions. The Boatshop mezzanine, Sail the Seas interactive, and the shipyard footbridge crossing remain closed until further notice. Contactless entry: To minimize touch points and monitor onsite capacity, please renew or purchase your membership online . What we ask of you Please have your facial covering available for certain activities. Masks are still required in youth programming, where standing orders currently remain. Wash your hands often. Although hand sanitizer will be available on campus, we highly encourage you to bring your own hand sanitizer.
